Gap Analysis

In Business Analysis the phrase Gap Analysis is the process of comparing two things in order to determine and define the gap – or the difference – that exists between the two. Often used to compare the “as is” (ie the current state) vs the “to be” (ie the desired future state), to determine what needs to be done to the “as-is” state, to get the object to the “to be” state.
